About Institution

The University of Bonn (German: Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn) is a public research university located in Bonn, Germany. It was founded in its present form as the Rhein University on 18 October 1818 by Frederick William III, as the linear successor of the Kurkölnische Akademie Bonn (English: Academy of the Prince-elector of Cologne) which was founded in 1777. The University of Bonn offers a large number of undergraduate and graduate programs in a range of subjects and has 544 professors and 32,500 students. Its library holds more than five million volumes.

Scholarship Details

The University of Bonn and the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) invites applications from students who are citizens of a Developing country who wants to undergo a Masters in Science program.

This scholarship program will cover all expenses and living cost. It will be awarded to students who make it on merit.

Application Deadline:  15th January 2018, at 23:59 CET (Central European Time) for Bonn, Germany.

Value of Scholarship: Successful applicants will be funded to cover all expenses directly related to the study programme as well as their cost of living in Bonn.

Duration of Scholarship: 24 months

Eligibility: To be eligible for this scholarship program, applicants must:

  • be citizens of a developing country.
  • have completed their bachelors degree program in any recognized Institution.
  • have at least two years of practical work experience (e.g. with an NGO, GO, or the private sector) in a field related to the study programme.
  • have outstanding grades.
